PCBPA End User Licence Agreement
Version 1.0, October 29, 2026
This End User Licence Agreement ("Agreement") is between you (an individual, or the organisation you install or use the Software for, "you") and Physics Anonymous LLC, Orlando, Fl ("we" or "us"). It covers the PCBPA software, its updates, documentation and the starter parts library supplied with it (together, the "Software").
By installing, copying or using the Software you agree to this Agreement. If you do not agree, do not install or use it.
1. Licence
1.1 Subject to this Agreement and to payment of the applicable fee, we grant you a perpetual (subject to Section 8), non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable licence to install and use the Software on up to three (3) computers for your personal or internal business purposes, including commercial design work.
1.2 The Software is licensed, not sold. We and our licensors keep all rights not expressly granted to you.
2. Restrictions
Except as allowed by Section 3, by applicable law that cannot be excluded by contract, or with our written permission, you must not:
(a) copy the Software, except for installation and reasonable backup copies;
(b) sell, rent, lease, lend, sublicense or redistribute the Software, or offer it to others as a hosted service;
(c) modify, translate or create derivative works of the Software;
(d) reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble the Software, or attempt to derive its source code;
(e) remove or alter any copyright, trademark or licence notice in the Software; or
(f) circumvent any licence key or technical limitation in the Software.
3. Third-Party And Open-Source Components
3.1 The Software includes third-party components, listed in the NOTICE file and the "licenses" folder supplied with it ("Third-Party Components"). Each is licensed to you under its own licence, not this Agreement. Where this Agreement conflicts with such a licence, that licence prevails for that component.
3.2 Qt and Qt for Python (PySide6). The Software uses the Qt and PySide6 libraries under the GNU Lesser General Public License version 3 ("LGPL"). In particular, and notwithstanding Section 2, you may:
(a) replace those libraries in your copy of the Software with modified or other versions of them;
(b) modify your copy of the Software to the extent needed to use such modified libraries; and
(c) reverse engineer the Software to the extent needed to debug such modifications.
You may obtain the source code of those libraries as described in licenses/README-LGPL.txt. We give no support for a copy of the Software in which those libraries have been replaced.
3.3 Part libraries you download through "Get more libraries", import, or open from elsewhere are not part of the Software. They are provided by their makers under their own terms, which are shown before download and kept with the files. You are responsible for complying with those terms.
4. Your Designs
4.1 You own the schematics, boards, libraries, manufacturing files and other output you create with the Software ("Your Designs"). We claim no rights in them, and the Software does not send them to us.
4.2 You are solely responsible for checking Your Designs, including any design rule check, electrical check, simulation or analysis result and any Gerber, drill, bill-of-materials or other manufacturing file, before you manufacture, sell or rely on any product. THE SOFTWARE'S CHECKS, SIMULATIONS AND ESTIMATES ARE AIDS TO DESIGN, NOT GUARANTEES, AND MAY BE INCOMPLETE OR WRONG. Do not use the Software as the sole basis for designs where failure could cause death, personal injury, or serious property or environmental damage.
4.3 If you connect an AI assistant or other program to the Software (for example through its MCP server), you are responsible for the changes it makes and the access you give it.
5. File Compatibility And Trademarks
The Software reads and writes files in formats used by other programs, such as Autodesk EAGLE and KiCad. We do not guarantee that every file will open, convert or round-trip correctly. EAGLE is a trademark of Autodesk, Inc.; other names are trademarks of their respective owners. We are not affiliated with, or endorsed by, any of them.
6. Privacy And Network Use
The Software does not collect usage data. It connects to the internet only when you ask it to, for example to activate or deactivate it, check for updates, download part libraries or open a web link. It never checks for updates automatically. When you activate or deactivate it, check your license or check for updates, it sends us your license key, an identifier for the computer (a one-way code made from the computer's and your user account's IDs, not the IDs themselves), the computer's name, its operating system and the Software's version. Deactivating a computer frees its activation.
7. Updates And Support
We may, but need not, provide updates or support. Updates we provide are covered by this Agreement unless they come with different terms.
8. Term And Termination
This Agreement lasts until terminated. It ends automatically if you breach it and do not remedy the breach within 30 days of notice from us. You may end it at any time by deleting all copies of the Software. On termination you must stop using and delete the Software. Sections 3, 4, 9, 10 and 12 survive termination.
9. Warranty Disclaimer
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING ANY WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE OR NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR THAT IT WILL BE ERROR-FREE OR THAT ITS OUTPUT WILL BE ACCURATE OR SUITABLE FOR MANUFACTURE.
10. Limitation Of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA OR GOODWILL, OR FOR THE COST OF MANUFACTURED BOARDS, COMPONENTS, ASSEMBLY, REWORK OR RECALLS, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SOFTWARE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THEIR POSSIBILITY. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY UNDER THIS AGREEMENT IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE SOFTWARE IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM. NOTHING IN THIS AGREEMENT LIMITS LIABILITY THAT CANNOT BE LIMITED BY LAW.
11. Export
You must comply with all export control and sanctions laws that apply to your use of the Software.
12. General
12.1 Governing law. This Agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States, excluding its conflict-of-laws rules. The state and federal courts located in Orange County, Florida have exclusive jurisdiction, except that we may seek injunctive relief in any court.
12.2 Entire agreement. This Agreement, together with the third-party licences in Section 3, is the entire agreement between us about the Software.
12.3 Severability. If any provision is held unenforceable, it will be enforced to the maximum extent permitted and the rest of the Agreement stays in effect.
12.4 Assignment. You may not assign this Agreement without our written consent. We may assign it in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of the Software.
12.5 No waiver. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it.
